While at university, Dean was spending all his spare time training and competing in karate, which led to him being selected for the British Squad. Eventually winning 3 world and 2 European golds, Dean appreciated the value of setting goals and committing to achieving them, plus the immense mental health benefits that come with physical exercise. Dean created group fitness programmes for a number of leading gym brands so although not delivered by him, his influence reaches every participant in every class, like throwing a stone in a still lake and watching the ripples spread. Dean truly appreciates anyone who overcomes barriers to take progressive steps on their personal fitness journey, no matter how small, he finds it motivating to see people move closer to the results they both desire and deserve.
Dean feels his super-power is versatility as he can teach functional fitness, dance based classes, combat workouts, fitness yoga, weight training, step aerobics and mindful sessions such as binaural beats and stretch therapy. As he is now a veteran of the industry, Dean begun to focus on longevity, specifically to tackle the loss of bone density, muscle mass, cognitive ability and co-ordination so he delivers workshops in strength training, balance, walking for health and even juggling.
